How to play word scramble

Rearrange the jumbled letters to find the hidden word—no account needed.

Word scramble shows you a shuffled word from a theme. Read the letters, figure out the real spelling, and type your answer. When you get it right, the puzzle celebrates in place—no page reload.

Goal

Each puzzle displays a scrambled word—the same letters as the answer, mixed in a random order. Your job is to unscramble it and type the correct spelling. One word per puzzle; solve it to finish.

Controls

Type your guess in the Your guess field, then press Check or hit Enter. The server verifies your answer—guesses are not case-sensitive.

A timer tracks how long you take. When you solve the word, a completion message appears and you can start a new puzzle from the sidebar or home page. Wrong guesses stay on screen so you can try again.

Difficulty & themes

On the word scramble home, pick a theme (animals, nature, and more) and a difficulty. Higher tiers use longer words:

  • Easy — about 4–6 letters
  • Medium — about 5–8 letters
  • Hard — about 6–10 letters
  • Expert — about 7–12 letters

Try the shared daily challenge calendar for one puzzle per day at each tier, or use printable worksheets for offline practice.

Tips

Look for common letter pairs (TH, CH, ER), spot vowels first, or count how many of each letter appear—the scramble uses exactly the same letters as the answer. Need more help? Read our beginner tips article.
