Privacy policy

Last updated: September 6, 2026. This policy describes how ProPuz (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use our website, puzzle games, and related Google/YouTube publishing tools. It is intended as general information and does not replace legal advice; please review with counsel before relying on it commercially.

Who we are

ProPuz operates the puzzle website at propuz.com (and related domains that point here). We provide free logic puzzles—such as Sudoku, Mini Sudoku (6×6), Killer Sudoku, word search, crossword, and magic square—for casual play in your browser. We also operate a Google Cloud OAuth application (for example “ProPuz Daily Challenges”) used to publish daily puzzle Shorts to the ProPuz YouTube channel.

Information we collect

  • Technical and usage data. Like most websites, our servers and hosting environment may automatically log information such as your IP address, approximate region, browser type, referring URL, timestamps, and requested pages. We use this to operate the service, troubleshoot errors, and understand aggregate traffic patterns.
  • Cookies and similar storage. We use cookies or local storage where needed to run the site—for example, to remember essential preferences or cookie-banner choices. See our cookie notice for detail.
  • Game state. Puzzle progress for anonymous play is typically kept in your browser session or temporary storage unless we introduce accounts in the future. We do not require sign-up to play public puzzles today.
  • Communications. If you email us (for example at hello@propuz.com), we receive your message, email address, and any content you choose to send.
  • Google and YouTube account data (publishing app only). When a channel owner authorizes our Google OAuth application, we receive credentials and API access as described in Google and YouTube API access below. Website visitors who only play puzzles are not asked to connect a Google account for that purpose.

How we use information

We use the above information to deliver and improve ProPuz, respond to support requests, protect security and integrity, comply with law where required, analyze aggregated usage, and (when authorized) publish ProPuz daily challenge videos to our brand YouTube channel. We do not sell your personal information.

Google and YouTube API access (ProPuz publishing)

ProPuz uses the YouTube Data API through a Google Cloud OAuth client so we can upload automated daily puzzle Shorts to the official ProPuz YouTube channel. This section applies when someone with access to that channel grants our app permission.

  • Who authorizes. Only the YouTube channel owner (or an account we designate) completes Google’s OAuth consent screen for the ProPuz publishing app. Ordinary puzzle players do not need to connect Google to use the website.
  • What we access. Depending on the scopes granted, we may upload videos and set titles, descriptions, and privacy settings (youtube.upload), and optionally read channel metadata such as channel id and basic snippet fields (youtube.readonly or related scopes) to confirm we are publishing to the correct channel.
  • How we use Google user data. We use this access solely to create and manage ProPuz brand content on YouTube (for example daily challenge Shorts derived from the same puzzles shown on propuz.com). We do not use Google user data to sell personal information, to serve third-party ads, or for unrelated profiling.
  • What we store. On our servers we store OAuth client credentials and a long-lived refresh token so the publishing service can obtain short-lived access tokens. Access tokens are kept only as needed to call the API. We may store remote video ids and publish status in our application database for idempotency and operations.
  • Sharing. Video content is published to YouTube under Google’s and YouTube’s terms. We do not sell Google user data. Hosting and infrastructure providers that run ProPuz may process data as subprocessors solely to operate our service.
  • Google API Services User Data Policy. Our use of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
  • Revoke and delete. You can revoke the app’s access at any time in your Google Account → Third-party access settings. To request deletion of stored OAuth tokens or related publish records on our side, email hello@propuz.com. Videos already published on YouTube remain under your YouTube channel controls.

Analytics and third parties

We may use limited third-party services for hosting, CDN assets (for example stylesheets or fonts loaded from reputable providers), Google APIs (YouTube Data API as above), or analytics if enabled later. When analytics are optional, we aim to load them only after appropriate consent where required by law. Third parties process data under their own policies.

Retention

Server logs and backups may be retained for a limited period according to our hosting provider’s practices. Email correspondence may be kept as needed to resolve issues or maintain records. OAuth refresh tokens are retained while automated YouTube publishing remains enabled; we delete or replace them when publishing is disabled, credentials are rotated, or you request deletion.

Children

ProPuz is designed to be family-friendly. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for marketing purposes. If you believe a child has shared personal data with us inappropriately, please contact us so we can review and delete where appropriate.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of personal data, or to object to processing. To exercise these rights or ask questions, email hello@propuz.com. You can also adjust cookie settings in your browser; see our cookie notice. Google/YouTube authorization can be revoked as described above.

International transfers

If you access ProPuz from outside the country where our servers are located, information may be processed in those jurisdictions. Google may process OAuth and YouTube API data in accordance with Google’s terms and locations. By using the site or authorizing our publishing app, you understand your data may cross borders as part of normal internet routing, hosting, and Google API operation.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and adjust the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
