Futoshiki glossary

Inequality: A > or < sign between adjacent cells that the digits must satisfy.

Given: A starting digit that cannot be changed.

Latin square: An n×n grid where each digit 1…n appears once per row and column.

Futoshiki: Japanese for “not equal”; the popular name for this inequality puzzle.
